Manchester City Launches £30M Lewandoski Bid to Replace Carlos Tevez

Manchester City have have concluded plans to launch a £30 million bid for Robert Lewandowski as they begin shopping for a new striker to replace Juventus-bound Carlos Tevez.
German media reported about two weeks ago that the Polish's favourite destination is Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich but reports this week says Dortmund are adamant they will not grant Lewandowski his wish to join the club to whom they finished as runners-up in the Bundesliga and European Cup last season.
So a move to the deposed Premier League champions would be a way out of this impasse between the German club and the player.
With Carlos Tevez moving to Juventus on Wednesday, leaving only Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko as senior strikers in the squad, City are in the market for a goal-scorer.
Dortmund would bank £30 million for Lewandowski, rather than lose him on a free - presumably to Bayern - next summer.
While Poland international Lewandowski fits the profile of striker City want, they have ruled out a move for Edinson Cavani and a swoop for Liverpool star Luis Suarez is highly unlikely.
Manchester United may not offer any competition and they have gone cold on Lewandowski, who has scored 54 goals in 98 Bundesliga games for Dortmund, since David Moyes succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as manager.
