Guadiola: Arsenal is the toughest draw we could have gotten

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has said that Arsenal are the toughest team they could have been drawn against in the UEFA Champions League.

In the draws on Monday,Arsenal were drawn against Bayern Munich in the second round of the UEFA Champions League, with the first legs coming up in February 2014.

It is the second consecutive time both clubs would be meeting in the Champions League knock-out stage, with Bayern accounting for Arsenal's exit last year, before going on to win the competition.

“I know Arsene Wenger quite well, I know his players quite well,” Guardiola told reporters. “In the draw, it was the most difficult team.”

But at the moment,Guardiola is focusing his energy on guiding Bayern to winning the FIFA World Club Cup in Morocco.

“This tournament is very important, very prestigious. It’s not easy to qualify for it, nor to win it.”

Bayern in their semi-final game against Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, had no difficulty in seeing off Marcelo Lippi's 3-0 after dominated from start to finish of the encounter.

“There are only two matches, the semi-final and the final, and simply put, we have to win them.

“You don’t have the good fortune to take part in this competition very often in your life as a professional footballer and I’d like to express my gratitude to the team and Juup Heynckes because thanks to them I am here today.”
