CHAN 2014: Eagles to get another $100,000 if they beat Ghana
Following Nigeria's dramatic comeback victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship(CHAN),sports minister mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has promised the Eagles another $100,000 if they win their semifinal game.
Prior to the game against Morocco,the homebased Eagles were promised $100,000 if they should win the match,and after they secured victory Abdullahi has staked another offer of the same sum to motivate the players.
Abdullahi praised the efforts of the team to come from three goals down and pip the Atlas Lions 4-3,adding that they showed commitment and passion to the course.
“With the kind of overwhelming joy that followed the victory across our country, one cannot but feel that perhaps, these players are destined to win the trophy,” the Sports minister said.
The minister further added that if the : “boys qualify for the final and go ahead to win the trophy, they can be confident that a grateful nation will remember for a long time to come that they, with typical Nigerian grits and determination, have extended our dominance of African football.”
Nigeria will on Wednesday tackle their West African counterparts Ghana,in the semifinal for a place in the final of the competition.
