Mourinho: Man City Have Everything To Lose

Blues boss Jose Mourinho last night turned up the heat on Manchester City by claiming they have everything to lose in their two titanic clashes with Chelsea.
The two were paired together in yesterday’s FA Cup fifth round draw but before that the Stamford Bridge outfit face the team chasing success on four fronts at the Etihad in the Premier League next Monday.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men have a 100 per cent domestic record at home, scoring 62 goals and conceding just 10.
But Mourinho welcomed the double-header, with the second game set up by Oscar’s free-kick winner against Stoke.
“No problem – we are ready to go there and enjoy,” he said.
“We are going to go there with a good attitude, and nothing to lose. They have everything to lose.
“They are the team that was made to win. They have to feel now the same thing I was feeling here in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 – ‘we are the best team by far – we have to win and if we don’t, it’s because we did something wrong’.
“They must feel the same. We have nothing to lose. Nice, nice, nice.
“It’s very enjoyable to go there (in the league) with one point difference. If you win, you’re in front. Good for us.
“Our priority for the season is to improve. The best way to improve is with difficult things.
“Play against the best teams, twice in 15 days, in their stadium, the stadium where they win every game and smash every team, score four or five goals every game even against the big teams like Arsenal and Tottenham and United – it’s a good thing for us.”
Mourinho confirmed yesterday Chelsea had clinched the signing of winger Mohamed Salah from Basel, with the fee understood to rise to £13.5m.
The Portuguese coach said Salah was just what his team needed.
“We had to react to the Mata situation, which was unexpected,” he added.
“We tried to go for a young player, obviously, and a left-footed player, obviously.
“And for a fast one, fast in the space, because most of my players are fast with the ball.
“Salah is a player who looks for space, trying to get behind people. A good choice and a good option.”
