Chelsea Trio Must Wait For New Contract Talks

terrylampscoleThe big trio of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole must wait until April at the earliest to find out if they still have a future at Chelsea.
The three England stars are all out of contract at the end of the season. But club owner Roman Abramovich has no intention of opening talks with them over one-year extensions yet, leaving them to sweat on their futures.
A close source to Abramovich said: ”Chelsea will talk with them at the end of the season, but understands initial discussions won’t even begin for at least two more months.
Lampard-who was courted last season by Major League side LA Galaxy – had to wait until May last year to sign a one-year extension to his contract, with the west Londoners announcing the deal on the 15th.
And it appears the midfielder – who turns 36 in June – and 33-year-olds Cole and Terry will been kept guessing this season as well.
Cole has lost his starting place this season and looks close to door while Terry is having a brilliant season having featured in all of Chelsea’s league games so far.
Terry looks set to start against Manchester City tonight, but there are doubts about his long-term future following the £12.5m signing of Kurt Zouma, 19, from St Etienne.
