Wenger: I am a Gunner for life
Arsene Wenger has stated that Saturday’s FA Cup
final will have no impact on his decision to remain
at the Emirates next season as the Gunners prepare
to face Hull City in their final game of the season.
Wenger wrote on his Eurosport blog on Friday that it
would be ”ridiculous” to envisage his future with
the club resting on a single match after spending 18
years in the position.
Wenger said: “The result of Saturday’s FA Cup final
will have no influence on my future at Arsenal. When
I’ve been part of a club for 18 years, it would be a
bit ridiculous to base my decision on one single
match, don’t you think?
“Will I be the manager next season? Yes, normally.
It’s not completely finalised yet, but it should
happen. But it’s true that I am very proud of the
team’s attitude, because they have been through
very tough moments. And they have always
answered scrutiny with positive thinking.”
Wenger’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of
this term and there has been speculation the
Frenchman could part ways with the Gunners.
