Photo : England Physiotherapist Get Injured As He Celebrates A Goal

England physio Gary Lewin will miss the rest
of the World Cup after dislocating his ankle
while celebrating Daniel Sturridge's equaliser
against Italy.
Sturridge's goal came two minutes after
Claudio Marchisio had put the Azzurri ahead
in the World Cup Group D encounter at the
Arena
Amazonia.
Lewin, 50, was carried away on a stretcher
after jumping off the bench.
"In celebrating the goal he jumped up, landed
on a water bottle and dislocated his ankle,"
said boss Roy Hodgson.
"It was very painful," he added. "He was
taken to hospital. The doctor set it, put it back
in at the side of the field, but it's the end of
the World Cup for Gary.
"That was a very sad moment for us."
A Football Association spokesperson said: "We
do have another physio with us - Steve Kemp."
England lost the match 2-1, former
Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli
heading Italy's winner in the second half.
