Chelsae Offers £40m plus Ramires for Edison Cavani

The Napoli striker is believed to have agreed terms on a bumper pay packet, which would see the Uruguan earn  £7.2m a season. 

The Blues have had a long-standing interest in Cavani, however Jose Mourinho has been planning a major revamp of his squad.

The likes of David Luiz and Juan Mata, who have both garnered interest from Barcelona have been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

A report in Italian publication Il Tempo indicates Chelsea are prepared to raise the stakes to land their top striking transfer targetThey purport that Chelsea, who are reluctant to meet Cavani's release clause, will table an offer of £40m plus Ramires for the 26-year-old.

Cavani was in devastating form last term, scoring an astonishing 36 goals in all competitions last term, as Napolin finished eventual runners-up to Juventus in Serie A.
