Arsene Wenger: Wilshere is following The Ramsey Example

It was the first brace of Wilshere’s senior career and took Arsenal to the brink of qualification - but despite having claimed four wins in five games in Group F, they still require a point against Napoli at the San Paolo in their final fixture to be sure of progress to the next round.

Wenger revealed his incredulity at how competitive the group has been, and also praised Wilshere for adding goals to his game, with the midfielder claiming his third and fourth strikes in his last eight club games. “He's coming back to a good level now,” Wenger said of Wilshere.

You could see that on Saturday [against Southampton] and again in this game. He has started to score goals and I like what I see from him in this game,” Wenger continued. “He is starting to think, 'what Aaron Ramsey can do, I can do'. You can see [against Marseille] that he is free to move in from his position on the flank and he does that in an intelligent way.

Arsenal’s attacking threat also pleased the Frenchman, as he pointed to the wide range of scorers the team has had in recent games as evidence of their potency. “What is most important in a good football team is that many players can score and that many players can get chances,” Wenger noted. “This time it was him [Wilshere] and another time it will be someone else.
