Rooney Apologises to England fans
Wayne Rooney has apologised to England's
fans for the side's early World Cup exit.
The Three Lions have been eliminated in the
group stage of the event for the first time in
56 years - much to Rooney's disappointment.
He posted a message on his Facebook page
that said: "Absolutely devastated to be out of
the World Cup.
“Going into each game we had great belief in
ourselves but unfortunately it hasn't worked
out.
“Sorry to all the fans that travelled and at
home that we haven't done better...gutted!”
Roy Hodgson's men suffered successive 2-1
defeats to Italy and Uruguay before Costa Rica
knocked them out of the tournament
yesterday with a shock 1-0 win over the
Azzurri.
