Each team had to earn their right to get to the Confederation Cup in Brazil this summer. Each road was equally difficult for every team to get here.
One thing that almost every team has in common is that they won their respective regions competition to get here. The only team that did not win their region was Italy. The Italians lost in the final of the Euro’s to Spain.
The UEFA had to send somebody and since Spain won the World Cup they were already in the Confederation Cup. So that made runner up’s Italy the team that would go to the Confederation Cup this summer.
