Barcelona forward Neymar has been granted permission to return to his country,Brazil for a 10-day rest.

Coach Gerardo Martino revealed that the player has been sent back to his native country,Brazil on a vacation to get some rest.

The former Santos player has had a minimal rest this year, helping Brazil win the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup at home in the summer.

“Neymar will go to Brazil this Thursday where he’ll have 10 days of rest,” Martino told reporters.

“He’s practically had no rest for months. He’s adapted well to the club and he knows the role he has to play. He’s very loved by everyone.

Neymar's early leave is informed by the fact that he is suspended for the La Liga game against Getafe at the weekend, which made his own leave to be fast-tracked.

He has been able to fill the void left by Barcelona's star man,Lionel Messi, having already contributed 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Barcelona this season.
