Samir Nasri says the Manchester City will attack from the start against Barcelona “as they have nothing to lose”.
The clubs will contest the decisive leg of a Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, with the Catalans winning the first leg 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium via goals from Lionel Messi and Daniel Alves.
And although Barca are favourites to progress, Nasri is drawing some encouragement from their opponents’ surprise 1-0 loss to Valladolid at the weekend.
Nasri said: ”I think anything is possible in football. I saw them this week against Valladolid. It just shows they are human. They are a great team but we are not going to have any problem to respect them because we know it is a great team. We have to do everything from the start.
“We have nothing to lose. If you go there and you lose it is no more, but if you get a result it will be fantastic.
“I think we have nothing to lose. Just attack them from the start and try to score an early goal.”
