Arsenal Offered Diego

Arsenal have been offered Atletico Madrid midfielder
Diego according to the Daily Mail. The Brazilian
playmaker is out of contract this summer and will
have the choice of several top clubs in Europe .
He is not Arsenal ’ s priority but could prove a very
useful squad player if Arsene Wenger pursues the
deal .
Diego , who started the first leg of the UEFA
Champions League semi final against Chelsea and
scored in the previous round against Barcelona,
started the season at Wolfsburg but returned to
Spain in January on a short term deal .
Since returning to the Primera Liga leaders, the 29 -
year- old has made ten appearances and has found
the back of the net just once .
Wenger had considered Diego last year while he was
playing in the Bundesliga. The Brazilian has a dual
Italian passport and is good friends with Mesut Ozil
due to their time together at Werder Bremen .
Having won honours at Santos , Porto, Werder
Bremen and Atletico, the experienced midfielder
could be a valuable addition to an Arsenal side who
have gone a decade without winning the Premier
League.
