Lewandoski: Dortmind wikk Survive without me
Poland international, Robert Lewandowski believes
Borussia Dortmund has the capacity to cope with
his departure from the club.
Lewandowski had been the focal point of
Dortmund’s attack since joining the club in 2010
but the striker will make the switch from the
former German champions to their rival, Bayern
Munich after agreeing to join the Bavarian side last
January on a free transfer.
In an interview with Bild, the 25-year-old said he
would always remember the good times he had
with Dortmund stating that he remain grateful to
the fans for their affection and support towards
him. Lewandowski is also hopeful that Dortmund
will adequately fill the vacuum his departure may
have created.
“It was a fantastic time which I will never forget.
But the time had come for me to take the next
step. Dortmund have always been capable of
signing good players after others leave and I'm
sure they will do that again. Dortmund are going
to be challengers again next season, I'm certain of
that,” Lewandowski said.
Explaining the motive behind his decision to sign
for Bayern, the Poland striker stated that he chose
the German champions because of his ambition to
win titles.
“It's got to be my goal to win and collect titles.
I'm certainly going to have better chances with
Bayern,” he concluded.
