Cristiano Ronaldo hoping Falcao recovers for the World Cup
World's best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, has expressed his optimism that AS Monaco striker, Radamel Falcao would overcome his injury to be fit for the 2014 FIFA World cup in Brazil.
Falcao tore his anterior cruciate ligament early in January which has ruled him out till the end of the season,throwing his World Cup dreams in doubt.
Ronaldo, who holds the current Ballon d'Or trophy, said, "The only message I can give him is that I know he has so much strength and courage.
"I hope that he recovers very fast because football needs Falcao.
"The World Cup and the Colombia team await him. I hope he recovers soon and can return to action in time. It's what we all want. Stay strong, Falcao."
The Real Madrid player added that the World Cup tournament would be poorer without the prolific striker's presence in Brazil.
Falcao was given some hope by the doctors after undergoing surgery,with the striker believed to have a 50-50 chance of making the trip to Brazil.
